Bom dia!! Algumas pessoas me pediram para explicar detalhes da transformação que tenho feito no apartamento, então lá vai… vou começar hoje pela cozinha.

Nesses apartamentos centenários da Europa é comum encontrar pequenas cozinhas adaptadas, um ambiente de passagem e, como no meu caso, sem nem mesmo uma janela (que ficou no banheiro, diretamente ao lado da cozinha). Como não tem luz natural MESMO, de duas uma: ou deixava tudo  branco pra “clarear” (e continuar escuro, só que chato) ou integrava a “escuridão natural” para criar um ambiente mais divertido e sofisticado.

 

As mudanças aqui nem foram muitas: 1. pintar as paredes brancas de cinza escuro, 2. cobrir os azulejos de dourado, 3. pintar o chão marron de cinza claro e, finalmente, brincar com os acessórios.

Pintar parede e chão não tem segredo, o único truque foi a transformação rápida e barata dos azulejos aplicando folhas auto-adesivas!! (Também se diz “papel contact” no Brasil??) Além de serem realmente fáceis de usar – e tirar se não gostar do resultado -, também são fáceis de limpar. Os vapores quentes da cozinha não estragaram o revestimento até hoje (praticamente um ano) então… já posso recomendar! 🙂

Eu gosto do clima escurinho, tem luz suficiente sobre a área de trabalho e o dourado ajudar refletir. Só acendo a luz de cima em último caso (limpeza, procurar o buraco do alfinete hahaha ou tirar fotografia!).  O que realmente faz a diferença é o uso de acessórios que eu gosto em qualquer outro lugar, então por que não na cozinha?: arte, plantas, abajures, velas, tapetes (sujou? joga na máquina), espelhos…

Os items legais de ver ficam pra fora… (o que é prático mas feio fica escondido no armário): bandejas, garrafas, xícaras, livros de receita (quem ve, pensa que eu sou um chef…). Instalei uma torneira mais legal (passa despercebido mas dá um ar “importante” na cozinha), pendurei os quadros japoneses que eu adoro (lembrança de um cenário do teatro) e distribuí alguns objetos que me fazem sorrir. Pronto… essa é a minha nova cozinha!!

Good morning!! Some people asked me to explain details of the transformation my pad has been going through so here we go… I begin today with the kitchen.

In these centenary apartments in Europe you will often find some adapted small kitchens, in a “passage room” and, as in my pad, even without windows (which is in the bathroom right behinf my kitchen). Since there is no natural light ANYWAY, thre only two choices: either painting eveything white to reflect God knows which light (so it remains dark AND boring) or integrating that “natural darkness” to bring fun, depth and sofistication in the ambience.

The changes here were not that many: 1. painting the white walls dark grey, 2. covering the tiles with golden, 3. painting the brown floor light grey and, finally, playing with fixtures and fittings.

Painting the walls is no secret, the only trick was the (quick and cheap) transformation of the tiles covering them with self-adhesive sheets!! (I think it’s called “contact paper” everywhere!!) Beyond being easy to apply – and to take off if you don’t like the result -, they are also easy to clean. The hot steams from the kitchen didn’t damage it until today (It’s been like one year) so… i may recommend! 🙂

I love the dark mood, there is light enough over the working area e all that golden helps reflecting. I only turn on the upper lights in “last case” (cleaning, looking for the pinhole hahaha or taking pictures!). What really makes the difference is using items I normally love anywhere else so why not in the kitchen?: art pieces, desk lamps, candle lights, rugs (got dirty? throw it in the washing mashine), mirrors…

The fun items are exposed… (those that are practical but ugly hidden in the cabinets): trays, bottles, mugs, cooking books (to make people think I’m a real chef…). I installed new hardware (nobody pays attention but notices some major diference), hang those japanese pictures I love (souvenirs of a theatre setting) and spread objects that make smile. Ready… this is my new kitchen!!
