Nada melhor que colorir as paredes para conseguir  uma transformação rápida, barata porém radical em um ambiente! Desde que não seja de branco, claro! Isso é o que venho fazendo com meu apartamento… vamos ver?

Nothing better than bringing color to your walls to acchieve a quick and non expensive – though radical – transformation in a room! As long as it is not white, of course! That’s what I have been doing in my pad… let’s take a look?

O hall de entrada ganhou o verde mais escuro do mercado, que muita gente enxerga azul petróleo… adoro a confusão! A parede escura exalta as nuances do reflexo da luz de maneira muito menos chapada que o branco.

The hallway got the darkest green of the market which many people see blue or teal… I love the confusion! The dark wall praises the nuances of light reflex with more depth than white would do.

A cor preta sobre os azulejos velhos do pequeno lavabo combinada com espelhos exageradamente grandes aumenta o espaço dando a impressão de profundidade. Por isso não concordo com o senso comum de limitar ambientes pequenos a paredes brancas.

The black paint over the old tiles in the small restroom in combination with oversized mirrors enlarges the space giving a impression of depth. That’s why I do not agree with the common sense limiting smalls spaces’ choices to white walls.

No home office objetos brancos como quadros, o abajur enorme, mesas e cadeiras ganham muito mais destaque e leveza contra a parede cinza escuro.

In the home office white objects like an oversize lamp, pictures, table and chairs are highlighted with delicacy against dark grey walls.

No nicho mais escuro do apartamento, a única parede de cor gritante – laranja – recebe um pouco de luz através de um espelho estrategicamente posicionado para refletir as janelas da sala.

In the darkest niche of the pad, the only “gaudy” color – orange – gets a bit of light through a carefully positioned mirror reflecting the windows light from the living room.

O quarto teve a escolha mais “perigosa”… violeta!! Mas o resultado é o que me causa maior felicidade porque a cor é extremamente relaxante, tornando suave os momentos de adormecer e de acordar.

The bedroom got the most “dangerous” choice… violet! But that’s probably the result rendering me the biggest joy because it is the most relaxing colour ever, bringing gentleness to the moments I feel asleep and get awake.

Ok, chão não é parede… mas também levou tinta! Cinza azulado que brilha com a luz do sol. O sorvete derretido para segurar a porta é uma das minhas piadas caseiras preferidas. 😉

Ok, the floor is not a wall… but it also got painted! A blueish grey that shines under sun light!! The melt ice-cream as door stopper is one of my favorite “home jokes”. 😉

O último ambiente que eu pintei foi a sala – ainda faltam uns detalhes, por isso nunca mostro uma visão geral hehe. Nessa altura do campeonato eu já sabia que por baixo do papel de parede eu encontraria essa mescla de cores e resolvi dar destaque a ela emoldurando de preto. O acabamento de verniz deu unidade sem ocultar irregularidades, asperezas e detalhes da história de paredes que sobreviveram intactas a 2 grandes guerras mundiais.

The last room I painted was the living room – it is not quite ready yet, that’s why I never show a general picture of it hehe. At this point I already knew I would find an astonishing blend of colours under the old wallpaper so I decided to expose it within those black frames. The glossy varnish finishing holds everything together without masking irregularities, roughnesses and history details of walls that bravely survived 2 world wars.
