Essa é a segunda casa que eu escolhi da “T”, a revista de estilo publicada mensalmente pelo tradicional jornal americano The New York Times (fundado em 1851!).

Assim como a casa da semana passada, essa aqui também tem uma coleção exuberante de antiguidades mas apresentadas de maneira totalmente diferente. As paredes coloridas em tons vibrantes combinadas com a textura quente das madeiras dão mais unidade ao visual… por mais que os olhos tenham que “passear” agilmente para ver tudo o que está à mostra, ainda temos a impressão de estar vendo um”grande todo” e o tal “passeio de olhos” somente examina seus componentes. É um efeito muito diferente dos ambientes anteriores, de parede branca de alvenaria, onde primeiro os olhos são atraídos por cada um dos objetos e a percepção da harmonia total acontece, mas é praticamente secundária.

This is the second home I chose from “T”, the style magzine published monthly by the traditional american newspaper The New York Times (founded 1851!).

Like last week home, this one also bears an exuberant collection of antiques but displayed in a totally diferente manner. The vibrating tones of the colourfull walls combined with the warm wood texture bring much more unit to the general look… even though the eyes must stroll around to see everything that is on display, we still have the impression we see a big whole and that eyes’ strolling simply examines its components. It’s a very diferent effect than the previous rooms, in white masonry where the eyes are attracted first by each one of the objects and the perception of an overall harmony happens, but in a secundary moment.
