Quem me conhece sabe que eu adoro uma confusão! Nada de briga, claro, mas um pequeno erro aqui ou uma distraçãozinha ali podem criar momentos engraçadíssimos. Eu sempre me divirto muito justamente com isso… essa explosão espontânea de criatividade que acontece com o erro.

Bom, isso foi a introdução da introdução do post de hoje que vai continuar um pouquinho o post de ontem falando de luz. Acontece que eu costumo compartilhar o blog pelo meu Facebook usando alguma chamadinha brincalhona, alguma expressão que ofereça uma certa idéia sobre o post sem revelar tudo, só uma associação mesmo. Assim foi também com o post de ontem quando eu disse que o post do dia era “Fiat Lux”!

Foi um tal de me mandar mensagens perguntando se eu estava vendendo um carro Fiat da série Lux, confundindo com a foto do carro esporte que eu postei alguns dias atrás… uma confusão sem fim. E eu, naturalmente, me diverti muito.

Gente… Fiat Lux são palavra divinas, do tempo que Deus ainda falava em latim com o povo que não sabia nem mesmo ler a sua própria língua, ou melhor, com um povo que ainda nem sequer existia: isso ainda era o comecinho da “Divina Novela”, o povo só entraria no último capítulo da primeira semana, antes do Autor tirar a sonequinha do domingo. Quando Ele (autor e personagem principal) disse “Fiat Lux”, ainda estamos no primeiro capítulo da novela e, traduzindo, Ele dizia “Faça-se a luz!”. Na verdade, era a isso que eu fazia alusão. Nada de carro e, muito menos, caixinha de fósforo… Sim, até isso eu ouvi.

Agora que chegamos ao fim do túnel – lá onde há luz! – vamos falar de novo sobre ela. O post de ontem foi ilustrado com 9 fotos iguais (ou quase). Todas foram tiradas do mesmo lugar para ter a mesma perspectiva  e poder comparar o único fator que se alterava: a iluminação. Era pra dar uma impressão geral mesmo mas com isso ficou faltando mostrar as fontes da iluminação – sejam abajures, lustres, spots, velas, lanternas,etc – e aquilo que eu chamo de “ilhas de luz”, a região iluminada mais próxima à fonte. Por isso, hoje estou mostrando a coleção de abajures da sala. Como eu disse, eu gosto de uma confusão ou, no caso, de uma boa mistura: diferentes tamanhos, estilos, materiais, lâmpadas… justamente para dar mais variedade de “climas” de luz. Ou será que devo dizer “mais diversidade“? Mais na moda, né! Aliás, adorei aprender que os iluminadores de teatro no Brasil, quando querem dar só um pouquinho de luz, mas bem pouquinho mesmo, dizem: “só um bafinho“! Não é uma delícia?

People who know me well also know that I love some confusion! I don’t say trouble or mess, of course, but some little mistakes or distractions that may lead to the most funny moments. I always have a lot of fun with exactly that: the spontaneous explosion of creativity that happens with such a misunderstanding.

Well, that was only the introduction of today’s posting’s introduction where we will go on extending yesterday’s talk about light. The matter is that I normally share the blog through my Facebook account using some funny expression, something to give a certain idea about what I’m talking in the blog but not revealing everything. Really just something to associate with. And so I did with yesterday’s posting when I said it was a “Fiat Lux Posting”!

Some people started sending me messages asking if I’m selling cars from Fiat, from a certain Lux series, messing it up with that photo of a sport car I posted some days ago… an endless mess that is still going on. And I, of course, had a lot of fun with all that.

My people… Fiat Lux are God’s words, from a time when God still spoke latin with people who couldn’t even read their own language. Actually, the people didn’t even exist: the “Divine Soap Opera” was just at its beginning and, acoording to script, people would only appear in the first week’s last chapter, before the Autor went for a sunday’s nap. When He (author & main character) said “Fiat Lux”… well, that was still in the very first chapter and, translating it, He meant: “Let there be Light!”. So, that was what I was actually trying to allude. Nothing about cars or even less, swedish matches. Yes, I did hear even that…

Now that we got to the end of the tunnel – there where is light! – let us talk again about it. Yesterday’s posting had 9 pictures that were all the same (or almost). All of them were taken from the same place in order to offer the same perspective so we could compare the only parameter that was changing: the lighting. In fact I really just wanted to give a general idea but them it was not possible to show the lighting sources – like lamps, lustres, spots, candles, lanterns, you name it – and that what I call “light isles”, the enlighted area which is the nearest to the lighting source. That’s why today I’m showing the collection of lamps I have in the living room. As I said, I do enjoy some confusion or, in this case, some good mix: diferent sizes, styles, materials, bulbs… exactly in order to bring a bigger variety of lighting moods. Or should I say diversity? Sounds more fashionable! By the way, I adored to learn that when brazilian theatre lighting people want to give just a little bit of light, but really very little, they say: only a “little exhalation” of light! Isn’t that sweet?
