Desde que eu cobri os azulejos do meu apartamento, tanto da cozinha como do banheiro, com papel contact, faço a maior propaganda de materiais simples, versáteis, que possibilitem bastante variedade de utilização sem doer no bolso de ninguém. Olha que cozinha e banheiro são áreas de muita umidade, vapores… nem eu acreditei que a durabilidade do papel contact fosse aguentar tanto tempo, mas ele está lá, firme e forte.

Hoje em dia, quem quer ter um ambiente legal em casa sem gastar muito dinheiro vai, com toda certeza, passar pelo IKEA, a grande cadeia de móveis com design interessante a preços camaradas, desde que o cliente monte tudo em casa ele mesmo (mas o IKEA também oferece serviços de transporte, montagem etc.). O truque é garantir o básico no IKEA, variar nos acessórios para personalizar sua decoração e aproveitar a economia para adquirir peças originais que serão o foco visual do ambiente. Personalização de móveis do IKEA, aliás, foi o tema do post “Raqueando IKEA”.

Estou falando dessa loja de novo porque queria recomendar esse post super legal do apartmenttherapy que mostra 8 cozinhas muito transadas a baixo custo e imagina só quantas vezes o nome da empresa aparece no post?? Em quase todos os exemplos tem algo deles (parece até post encomendado, mas não acredito). O outro foco da matéria são alternativas de azulejos, como os azulejos de metrô colocados de maneira criativa ou a dica para pintar azulejos simples que eu também posso recomendar: já fiz isso no lavabo e na sala de jantar e deu super certo.

Since I covered the tiles in my apartment – both in the kitchen and in the bathroom – with contact papaer, I’m always talking about simple materials that are versatile with diferent possibilities of using without hurt anybodie’s economies. I was aware that the kitchen and the bathroom are areas with a lot of humidity and steam… so I didn’t really believe that contact paper’s durability would last that long but there it is until today, with no damage.

Nowadays, whoever wants to have a nice room at home without spending too much will for sure pay a visit to IKEA, the huge chain for interesting and low budget design  furniture. Even though the client must assemble the furniture at home, IKEA also offers services like transport and assembling. The trick I recommend is buy all basics at IKEA, bring in some variation through accessories to make your decoration more individual and have with the money you saved purchaising original stuff that will be the center of all attentions in you room. By the way, personalizing IKEA furniture was the subject of the feature “IKEA Hacking”.

I’m talking once again about this store because I wanted to recommend a very nice posting from apartmenttherapy featuring 8 kitchens that are totally nice, low budget and guess which brand name appears almost everywhere in that posting…? Almost all examples feature something from IKEA (it almost looks like a payed feature, though I donÄt believe it!). Another focus in that feature is presenting alternatives of tiles, like the famous subway tiles that can be applied in original patterns or simply the hint to paint out the tiles. Something I can also fully recommend: I did that with the tiles in the restroom and dinning room and it worked out perfectly.
