Já faz um tempinho que ando precisando de uma força para reavivar a minha conta no Pinterest mas ela continua super às moscas… tadinha! Ao contrário do Instagram que me pegou completamente com um timing de interação que às vezes chega a ser vertiginoso e muito me diverte, o Pinterest me parece um calhambeque de tão lento…

Será que sou eu que não estou sabendo usar? Cada rede social tem seus truques pra funcionar legal, assim deve ser com o Pinterest também… bom, minha próxima meta é descobrir como fazer a plataforma deixar de ser um mero arquivo de pesquisa mas por enquanto vamos dar uma olhada no que eu já tenho escondido lá…

Rough chic é o nome de uma galeria onde eu coleciono fotos de ambientes que misturam o rústico/rough e o sofisticado. Tem um leeeeve parentesco com o estilo industrial, que eu gosto muito, mas visto de um jeito mais eclético, misturando peças antigas e delicadas que não são típicas do industrial (e ainda continuam longe do “shabby nunca chic”). Apesar de achar estilos “puros” esteticamente super bonitos, eles me dão sempre uma certa sensação de aprisionamento… falta ar, falta liberdade de pensamento e isso não tem beleza que compense! (Pergunte à Rapunzel!)

Nós vivemos num mundo complexo demais para nos limitarmos a aquilo que nos cerca e que nos convém. Isso não se chama tranquilidade nem conforto… é comodismo! O mundo –  queiramos ou não – é feito tanto de coisas belas quanto terríveis e o mais surpreendente é que elas convivem umas com as outras,mesclando-se de maneira tão convincente que, quando menos esperamos, estamos chamando o terrível de belo, a beleza de horrível! Por isso preciso de contraste: a presença consciente dos dois aspectos me ensinando a procurar o equilíbrio sem esquecer-me da essência de cada um deles.

It’s been already quite a time I need some help to revive my account at Pinterest but it is still left abandoned… poor one! Unlike Instagram that totally “cought me” with its interaction agility which is sometimes almost vertiginous and gives me a lot of fun, Pinterest seems to me like… a jalopy, so slow!

Is it me who is not aware about how to use it properly? Each social media has its tricks to work well and so might it be with Pinterest too… well, my next goal is to find out how to make that platform leave behind that mere archive appearance but, by now, let’s take a look what I have hidden there…

Rough chic is the name I gave for a gallery where I collect pictures of rooms that mix the rustic and the sofisticated. It comes close to the industrial style, which I like very much, but seen in a much more eclectic way, mixing old and delicate pieces which are not typical in the industrial (and still remains far from “shabby never chic”). Although I find “pure” styles esthetically beautifull, they always give me a certain feeling of being imprisoned… it misses air, misses liberty of thinking and there is no beauty at all to compensate that! (Ask Rapunzel!!)

We live in a world that is too complex for us to stay limited whithin what just surround us and seems convenient. This is not tranquility, not even confort… this is self-indulgence! The world, whether we want it or not, is full of beautifull and terrible things and the most surprising is how well they live together, melting into each other so convincingly that suddenly we start naming the horrible beautifull and the beauty, terrible! That’s why I need contrast: the presence of both aspects teaching me to look for balance without forgetting each one’s essence.
