Bom dia! Sabe que eu ando me divertindo muito com a produção da série 7×1 Museus? Começou meio por acaso, só pelo desejo de fazer um passeio ao museu com a minha amiga Rita Scodeler (que foi quem me apresentou o ticket anual dos museus de Viena) e resolvemos fazer juntos o círculo todo. Tem sido delicioso não só pela riqueza dos museus, mas pela mudança de perspectiva com a regularidade das visitas e, claro, o prazer da companhia dela.

Hoje eu queria falar em museu outra vez mas de um jeito diferente. Como eu disse há alguns posts atrás, estou iniciando um novo trabalho e chegou a hora de apresentá-lo com mais detalhes. Dancing Museums é o nome de um projeto internacional de parceria entre instituições de dança e museus para explorar novas maneiras de interagir com o público. Cada uma das cinco instituições de dança que formam o projeto indicou um coreógrafo e juntos eles passam uma semana em cada um dos museus preparando apresentações solo. O objetivo do projeto é mostrar ao público uma maneira diferente de ver a arte exibida no museu  através da dança. Como a interação entre dança e museu nesse projeto é recíproca, eu poderia inverter a frase anterior e dizer que o objetivo também é mostrar a dança de uma maneira diferente, fora do contexto comum de um teatro e “exibida” em um museu.

Ou seja, o projeto tem elementos que eu adoro… mistura de linguagens artísticas e trata diretamente da comunicação entre público e arte. O meu papel no projeto é justamente provocar e documentar essa comunicação. “Provocar” significa simplesmente buscar maneiras de incentivar o público a interagir conscientemente com aquilo que é oferecido a ele. Convidá-lo a não ser somente um espectador passivo mas “espec-ator“… uma expressão que eu considero bastante importante do grande e revolucionário diretor brasileiro de teatro Augusto Boal porque indica o carácter atuante da presença do público diante da arte.

Não vou me alongar mais… os dados concretos sobre o projeto estão todos no seu lindo site. Eu vou apresentá-los aqui também devagarinho mas hoje queria dar uma pincelada no pensamento geral do projeto e na minha função dentro dele. Aliás, o post já faz parte do meu trabalho de pesquisar a comunicação como público e você também pode participar!! Ando me perguntando o quanto a linguagem dos artistas é compreensível para o público… será que nós artistas temos que mudar nosso jeito de falar sobre arte para ter uma conversa mais fluente com o público?  E por isso pergunto… você acha que esse post foi suficientemente claro e capaz de despertar o interesse principalmente de quem está lendo mas normalmente não se sente atraído a pensar sobre arte? Ou parece tudo muito distante? Se alguém falar sobre isso nos comentários, ficarei muito agradecido pois essa é a contribuição que estamos precisando nesse projeto. Obrigado 🙂

Good morning! Do you know that I’m having a lot of fun producing the series 7×1 Museums? It all began quite accidentally, it was just the desire to visit a museum with my friend Rita Scodeler (who showed me the annual tickert for the museums) and then we decided to go together the whole circle. It has been wonderful not only due to the richness of these museums but also the shift of perspective visiting the museums with regularity and, of course, the delight of her company.

Today I want to talk about museums again but in quite a diferent way. As I said some posting behind, I’m at the beginning of a new work and now it is time to present more details about it. Dancing Museums is the name of an international project for partnership between museums and dance institutions to explore new ways of interacting with audiences. Each one of the five dance institutions that are in the project chose a diferent choreographer and they stay one week working together in each one of the museums where they develop solo performances. The aim of the project is showing to the audience a diferent way to see the art exhibited in the museum through dance. Since the interaction between dance and museums in this project is reciprocal, I could just invert the phrase before and say that the aim is also to show dance in a diferent way, out of the common context of a theater and “exhibited” in a museum.

That is, the project has elements I love… mix of artistic languages and deal directly with the communication between audience and art. My role in the project is exactly provoquing and documenting this communication. “To provoque” means simply to look for ways to encourage the audience to interact in a conscious way with that what is offered to them. To invite people not be mere passive spectators but a “spec-actors“… an expression from the great and revolutionary brazilian theatre director Augusto Boal which I consider quite important. It points to the active character of audience’s presence in front of art.

I don’t want to get too long… the concrete informations about the project are all in its beautiful site. Of course I will also present them here little by little too but today I just wanted to show the general thought behind the project and my role in it. By the way, this posting is already part of my work researching communication with the audience so you can also participate!! I have been asking myself how much artists’ way of speaking about art is understandable for audiences… could it be that we artists must change our language to establish a more fluent dialogue with audiences? Therefore I ask you… do you think this post was clear enough and able to awake interest specially if you are reading without been normally attracted to think about art? Or does it seem to be all too far away? If anyone wants to talk about that in the commentaries, I will be really grateful because that is the contribution we are looking for in this project.
