Normalmente eu gosto de variar os sites que eu recomendo como “inspiração” porque assim além de compartilhar o que eu vejo por aí de bonito, também é possível dar uma visão mais ampla do que anda acontecendo no mundo do design. Bom, dessa vez eu não resisti e vou repetir o site recomendado na semana passada!

O site alemão DEAVITA publicou uma matéria sobre o trabalho do designer Apiwat Chitapanya que me deixou de queixo caído! O texto chama atenção para o contraste entre o peso do metal utilizado nas peças e a leveza da manufatura atingindo um resultado “que se pode chamar de escultural”. Assino embaixo e não “chamo de” escultura, digo logo que são esculturas mesmo!

Eu fui criado entre passarinhos, muuuuuitos passarinhos… e por isso guardo uma afeição muito especial por esses seres-zinhos encantadores! O corpo dos pássaros é muito leve, o que lhes permite voar, mas sua força pode ser medida pela sua resistência e sobrevida no nosso planeta. Eles são praticamente os seres vivos mais antigos com quem convivemos… os únicos dinossauros que sobreviveram evoluindo para aproximadamente dez mil espécies diferentes que variam entre delicados 5 cm do colibri à desajeitada simpatia dos avestruzes de até 2,75m de altura.

Fiquei tão feliz com essa lembrança e os pensamentos todos que tive ao ver as peças de Chitapanya que achei que simplesmente não podia escapar ao repeteco!! 😉 Clique aqui para ver mais fotos (e os créditos) na matéria original de DEAVITA.

I normally like to vary the sites I recomnend as “inspiration” because this way, beyond sharing some beautiful things I see all around, it is also possible to offer a broader view about what is going on in the design world. But, well, this time I just could not resist and will repeat  the site I recommended last week!

The german site DEAVITA published a review on designer Apiwat Chitapanya’s work that was simply jaw dropping!! The text calls attention to the contrast between the weight of the metal used for his pieces and the light result of its handwork. The site says this result “may be called sculptural”. I sign that statement too and not only “call” them sculptures but go beyond to say they are sculptures!

I was raised among birds, maaaaaaany birds… and therefore I keep a very special affection for these lovely little beings! Birds’ bodies are very light allowing them to fly but their strength can be measured but their resistence and survival in our planet. Their are actually the most ancient living beings with whom we live… the only dinosaurs that survived evolving to around ten thousand diferent species that vary between delicate 5 cm of a hummingbird until that awkward sympathy of a ostrich that may reach 2,75m.

I got so happy with this remembrance and all the thoughts I had seeing the work by Chitapanya that I thought I simply could not scape the repetition!! 😉 Click here to see more photos (and the credits) in the original review by DEAVITA.
