Lá podemos encontrar Maryam Montague, uma designer de interiores surpreendente pela abrangência do seu trabalho. Autora do livro Marrakesh by Design, ela é fundadora da marca #tribalchic lifestyle e da loja online Red Thread Souk com objetos de inspiração tribal e home decor marroquino. Junto com seu marido, o arquiteto Chris Redecke, ela construiu o hotel boutique Peacock Pavilions, onde recebe viajantes do mundo inteiro, interessados em decoração, fotografia, wellness e… trabalho social!

Sim, Montague iniciou uma ong que usa o design como instrumento de transformação na vida de meninas em situação de vulnerabilidade em comunidades próximas à área onde vive, uma região onde tradicionalmente as mulheres recebem pouca (ou nenhuma) possibilidade de serem autoras do seu próprio destino. Através de educação artística, projetos de reforma, esporte e educação para a saúde o Projeto Soar tem como comunidade piloto a vila de Douar Ladaam, sede do hotel Peacock Pavilions.

There we can meet Maryam Montague, an astonishing interior designer with an incredible range of activities. She is the author of  Marrakesh by Design and founded both the brand #tribalchic lifestyle and the online shop Red Thread Souk with tribal inspired and Marrocan home decor. Together with her husband, the architect Chris Redecke, she built the hotel boutique Peacock Pavilions where she hosts guest from all over the world who are interested about home decor, fotography wellness and… social work!!

Yes, Montague founded a non profit organization that uses design as a transformation tool in the lives of underprivileged girls in the bearby communities where she lives, a region in which women traditionally have few (or no) oportunities to be the author of their own stories. through artistic education, renovation projects, sport and health education Project Soar has the village Douar Ladaam – home to Peacock Pavilions – as its pilot community.

Visiting Maryam Montague’s site, you contribute with increasing the visibility of her wonderfull project beyond enjoying the loving beauty of her design work.
