Bom dia! Hoje, como toda quarta feira, seria mais um dia de inspiração no mundo do design de interiores mas estou mudando minha programação por uma causa nobre 😉 O post de hoje serve também como um convite para a apresentação de Dancing Museums na Galeria de Pinturas da Academia de Belas Artes de Viena. Os 5 coreógrafos residentes já terminaram suas pesquisas, prepararam seus solos, hoje é o ensaio geral e amanhã veremos o que acontece com o público interagindo.

A apresentação começa às 16hs no saguão da Academia com a palestra “Arte e o corpo perceptivo” feita por Diane Shooman. Dali o público será guiado ao longo da galeria pelos coreógrafos Dante Murillo, Lucy Suggate, Fabio Novembrini, Connor Schumacher e Tatiana Julien além do video artist Max Biskup. Os solos apresentados por eles foram criados especialmente para esse museu com a intenção de apresentar quadros da exposição segundo uma perspectiva individual. Normalmente, os guias levam grupos pelo museu, explicando detalhes técnicos e históricos das peças expostas mas o projeto Dancing Museums experimenta fazer isso de uma maneira mais intuitiva, usando a linguagem da dança para aproximar os visitantes dos quadros. Isso não significa que eles vão simplesmente dançar na frente de um ou outro quadro. Alguns até falam sobre a obra mas também contam histórias pessoais, cantam e procuram explorar lingugagens diferentes que mude um pouco o jeito de olhar de quem vem ao museu. Ao final, esperamos que uma parte do público se sinta à vontade para comentar o que aconteceu pois o projeto é campo de pesquisa e experimentação para os artistas! Muitas vezes a linguagem usada por artistas permanece um pouco distante do público em geral, sendo difícil penetrar na profundidade do seu conteúdo, especialmente daqueles artistas que evitam usar linguagem consideradas “fáceis” ou “comerciais” (que agradam o público somente no nível do entretenimento. Nada contra… mas é um outro mundo!)

As fotos desse post foram tiradas em ensaios por isso, se você olhar com atenção, vai descobrir vários detalhes que não “pertencem” à apresentação. Mas essa também é a graça dos ensaios… ali o “mundo perfeito” criado pela performance não está fechado em si mesmo. Como é um processo em desenvolvimento, os ensaios sempre parecem ser mais “pé no chão”.  Com isso quero dizer simplesmente que o contato imediato com a realidade em torno da performance é mais facilmente visível mas é justamente esse contato que não pode ser perdido na hora da apresentação. O projeto está aí, numa tentativa bastante objetiva de deixar isso claro. Venha ver!

Good morning! Today, just like every wednesday, it would be a day of inspirations taken from the world of interior design but I am changing my own program for a good reason 😉 The posting today is also an invitation for the show from Dancing Museums at the Paintings Gallery of the Fine Arts Academy in Vienna. The 5 resident choreographers already finished their researches, prepared their soli, today is general rehearsal and tomorrow we will see what happens when the audience is interacting.

The show begins at 4 p.m. in the Aula at the Akadamie with the lecture “Art and the perceptive Body“ by Diane Shooman phD. This will be followed at 4.30pm by a Danced Guided Tour with Dante Murillo, Lucy Suggate, Fabio Novembrini, Connor Schumacher and Tatiana Julien and also the  video artist Max Biskup, leading the public to the Painting Rooms and beyond. The soli they show were created specially for this museum aiming to show the exhibition after an individual perspective. Normally, guides take groups through the museum while explaining tecnical and historic details but Dancing Museums tries to make that in a diferent manner, a more intuitive one, using the language of dance to bring audience closer to the pictures. That doesn’t mean they will simply dance in front of one or another picture. Sometimes they even speak about the painting but also tell personal stories, sing and try to explore diferent languages to shift the look of museum’s visitors. At the end, we hope a part of the audience feels confortable to comment on what hapenned since the project is field for research and experimentation! Often times the language artists use remain a little distant from the general audience, and it may get difficult to penetrate the deepness of their contents, specially from those artists who avoid using languages considered to be “easier” or “comercial” (those that only please the audience in the level of entertainment. Nothing against that… it is just another world!)

The pictures in this posting were taken in rehearsals and, if you look carefully, you are going to find many details that don’t belong to the show. But this is exactly the fun about rehearsals… at this stage the “perfect world” created by a performance is not closed in itself. Since rehearsals are a developing process, they seem to be more “down to earth”. By that I mean simply that the imediate contact with reality around the performance is more easily visible although exactly this contact is also the element that should not get lost in the performance. The project is here as an attempt to make this clear. Come and see!!
